Lip Love: L'Oreal Fairest Nude

Hey! Just a quick, quick blog post about my newest favorite lipstick. I usually go for nude pinks as opposed to a more truer nude but I have been on the hunt for a nice one that isn't too dark for someone as fair as me. With Fairest Nude I think I found a keeper!

It is a true nude. No pink undertone, which is a nice change. It's not too light and doesn't white out my lips like some I have tried (no concealer lips!). Even though I like some nudes to be a little bit lighter in contrast to my skin tone, this one doesn't have that quality. Which is a nice change! It was what I have been looking for! I also run into the problem where I find a gorgeous true nude on different blogs, then when I go to try it out, it is way too dark for my skin tone. That, I hate.

The L'Oreal Colour Riche lipstick line smells really similar to baby powder. That's not my favorite scent in the world, but I can deal with it because Fairest Nude is a great color. It is a cream finish. It's not drying, & there isn't any kind of shimmer in it. Just like any other lipstick, your going to have to re-apply it through out the day.

If your really fair (like me!) and your looking for a straight up nude, I think you should check this out! I have been loving it!

What's your favorite nude lipstick? I would love to check them out! You can never have too many lipsticks! haha!

That's it!

14: Something Glamorous: Turning Eye Dust into a Mani

This hit me like a ton of bricks today. Why have a I never thought of it before? I have a couple of Jesse's Girl Eye Dust's & only break them out on special occasions. I have been eying that caviar manicure for weeks now & while looking through blogs online, I seen a post about Jesse's Girl Eye Dust's & then it hit me! I could put that on my freaking nails!

It's quite simple really. Paint your nails whatever color you desire. In this case I used L'Oreal's Club Prive. I I am also using Jesse's Girl Eye Dust in Pixie Dust

  • This polish color is pretty sheer and while I painted around 5 coats on every nail, I only did 2 coats on the nail I was going to put the eye dust on, aka my bling finger.
  • Once that dries, paint your top coat on. Your only going to want to wait around 15 seconds for the top coat to dry because you don't want it to dry fully. Just enough so it is slightly dry but also tacky enough to hold the eye dust in place.
  • Then, grab a brush you never use & dip it in your eye dust (or any loose pigment)
  • Now, carefully put it in your nail(s) in a dabbing motion. Don't use a painting motion. It will mess up your nails!
  • Add another top coat once that dries fully.
  • Show off your nails! Tell everyone you thought of it all by yourself! I wont tell : )

The Paint job you see is one that was done a day before. The Pixie Dust I done an hour before the pictures. As you can see L'Oreal's polish as already chipped. Not too bad but I mean c'mon!

It's Alex's birthday tonight so we are having a bon fire here. Alex's birthday always marks to the start of summer to us. Mine always marks the end, Oct. 8th. I guess it works out perfectly! What are you guys doing tonight? Anything fun? As always, thank you so much for stopping by!

Have you ever thought of anything wildly creative such as this?!
What's on your Nails?

sending lots of creative Pixie Dust your way,
xoxo

NOTW: Alicia at the Club

You will know why I made up that clever name in a second but can I gush over the pastel coral? I love that color so much! Can you believe I am almost out of it....that's really a shame considering I got it not even a month ago. Well maybe like a little over a month ago. I know they have one from Sally Hansen called Coral Reef so I will probably have to purchase that eventually. Ok enough of all of that, let's get on with the NOTW!

Julep Nail Polish is called Alicia: it goes on so nicely! All I needed was 1-2 coats.

L'Oreal Nail Polish is called Club Prive: I love the color, but it is really sheer. I used like 5 coats. I heard that L'Oreal bought out Essie so I guess L'Oreal's nail formula is similar. I do not think that though. The Essie ones are much more opaque so maybe they haven't gotten to changing the formula for the L'Oreal polishes yet.

hey, i couldnt get a great picture- these are good enough i guess

So yeah just a quick little NOTW

Till Next Time,
xoxo

Hit Pan & Empties

L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base- As my very first face primer, I thought it was pretty good, but I do hope there are better one's out there than this. The formula has a whipped cream consistency & has a really silky feel to it. Once this stuff is applied, it dosen't feel too heavy or make my face feel even more oily (than it can get)- it feels really light weight and nice. With that said, I just don't think it gives my face an even texture or fills in large pores. It is kind of expensive for such a small tub ($14 for .5 oz) and because of that, I was only using a dime sized amount and I don't feel like it was doing a great job filling in my pores. Perhaps I wasn't using enough...? If I wasnt using enough, then I think you should be getting more for your money. Other people LOVE this primer, so maybe that was the problem. With or without this stuff, my face make-up stays on for the same amount of time.

Rice Face Wash from Bath & Body Works- I bought this face wash like 7 years ago. It was recommended to me at the store because I do have acne prone skin. When I first bought it, I didn't like it. The reason for that was because I would tend to get it in my eyes and it fucking burned!!! I was using Proactiv in conjunction w/ this back then, just an Fyi. I just used it up recently because it was my "back-up" face wash. I can't really say that it helped with my acne and it was a bit expensive at around $20. Does it clean my face? yes. However, I think you can find something just as good, that is much cheaper, that if you do get in your eyes, it's not a big deal....unlike Rice. No Dice.

Ouidad Styling Spritz- I bought the whole package about 2 years ago. It came with the shampoo, gel, the spritz & also a how-to book with some clips to use when your styling. I do have wavy hair which I can curl just by scrunching & blow-drying , so im always on the hunt for different products that help natural curls. With that said- I loved this spritz! I always used this along with Suave Mousse (which I love) the first day. This stuff, first of all, will hold my curl and make them more defined along with adding some volume. It dosen't make my hair sticky either. On the second day, I would just spray some of this in my hair and blow dry upside down while scrunching and it made my hair look just as fabulous as the day before- in fact, I think I liked day 2 better!  If you like the "wet" look, I wouldn't recommend this to you, because that isnt what it does. I personally dont like it, so this stuff is perfection.

Avon's Clearskin Blackhead Eliminating Daily Astringent- I really like this toner because whatever makeup or dirt I did miss when I washed my face, this stuff takes it off and makes my skin really clean which is exactly why I buy a toner. I know that some toner's can be drying and I dont think this one is, but again I have oily skin. If you have dry skin, you may wanna check into it. Also, this stuff does burn (which can be a sign of drying) if you have an infected pimple or anything like that which I kind of like because I feel like it's killing bacteria and cleaning deeper. If your sensitive to that burning sensation I cant say I recommend it.

what's on the bottle?

Cashmere Lotion- I am in love with stuff. The small size (which is the hand cream) was $10- that's expensive. With that said, I am buying this again once I have the money, but this time im gunna go with the butter that comes in the tub. I think this is the only lotion I am willing to shell out a lot of money for, because I love the scent. It smells buttery & creamy. The scent will linger on your skin for half the day too. Next time your at B&BW, take a whiff of this! And oh yeah, it moisturizes too, that's def. a plus!
p.s.- this picture of the Cashmere Hand Cream was actually taken when I first got it- I took a pic of it but it didnt come out very good! sorry guys!

Mark. Keep it Going Long Wear Liner & Shadow in Entourage- The one I have has a matte black side and a silvery/white side with a bit of sparkle. The black I used all the time, as a cream liner, and I absolutely loved it! It didn't dry out until just recently and I bought it in January. Now on to the white side....It was absolutely drying from the first day. It didn't go on smooth like the black side- it just kinda clumped up- no matter if I used my fingers, a brush, or whatever. I think the reason for that has something to do with the sparkles inside- it just didn't work out for me. I since then bought the Wet -n- Wild cream liner for $4 in black- so I got the one color I wanted- a matte black. The Mark. one runs up to $10 and half of it dries out quickly. I do think they are comparable- WnW and mark.'s black side I mean. Both creamy and nice.

Almay Dial Up Mascara & Liner- This was a 2fur- I got both in one pack. The liner was okay. I dont think there was anything special about it- just a standard black liner. I prefer a kohl liner (Loreal Kohl Liner is great!) as it is much more creamy and dosen't tug at my eyes like some liners can....*cough* As for the mascara, again, it was pretty standard. Nothing special about it. The whole dial up thing just controls how much mascara actually gets on the brush so it's a bit gimmicky. I dont think it held the curl on my lashes like I expect out of any mascara. I like a mascara that defines, separates, & elongates. This stuff just put a bunch of the product on my lashes and they weren't looking "full"...just clumpy. I recommend Mark.'s Scanda-Lash if your looking for the same things out of your mascara.

OK So there's all my empties- What have you guys used up recently? let me know in the comments below! Have a great and thank you so much for stopping by!

HOTD: Party Curls

hey ladies! I hope everyone is having a really fun weekend! I know the weather is gorgeous & HOT here! These curls are so much fun, but they are for summer nights, at the bonfire once it cools down! These were inspired by the clipless iron which are a million dollars (well not really but like $100..which is alot) so I found a great way to achieve those curls with a regular iron.

Here's what I used (in order):

John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum: I recently found this tucked away in a box, it used to be my favorite product, I remember why! I pretty much is the same thing as Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum which is also one of favorites. A serum you put in your hair while it's wet, although with this product you aren't supposed to towel dry your hair. Either way once it dries, its makes your hair really soft and smooth and prevents frizz...hence the name after I smoothed that through my hair, let it air dry for a few mins, considering I couldn't towel dry it which was annoying! I put in...

Paul Mitchell Round Trip Serum: This is another serum but it's instead for wavy, curly hair. Since my hair already is a bit wavy it adds lightweight detail & gives it a flexible hold and bouncier curls to to my hair type- which is great, because in the end I don't have to use as much hair spray. I recommend this serum for my wavy hair chicks, especially for days when you don't feel like blowing it out & you just wanna scrunch your hair...No crunchy curls allowed! You will get a perfect texture to your hair with this stuff, plus it smells freakin good!

Redken Guts 10: This is a volume spray-mousse foam...no kidding that is what the bottle reads.I spray this on the roots of my hair near and around the crown of my head, then kinda work it in by massaging it in my scalp/hair- Give it some oomph!

L'Oreal Studio Secret Hair Putty- It does the same job as the Redken 10 Guts, this one is a cream/wax (dont worry it doesn't feel wax, actually pretty creamy) why would you be worried? IDK, I just work this into the roots at the tippy-top of my head to give it even more oomph! You really dont need to use both I just had them both on had. Oh yeah, I don't use this until my hair is dry, & im ready to curl!

Then let it dry...I was on a kick the other day and was trying not to blow my hair out. It has been years since I haven't used a blow dryer so I threw curlers in and let my hair sit for a little- and then I did cheat and blow dried it for 10 minutes at the end, with the curlers still in my hair...oh well its better than nothing! my hair needed a day off....which is a contradiction because I am using a curling iron in this post..lol whatever dis-regard this - lets move on

With the curling iron (which is a 2" barrel) I open the clamp and holding it with my left hand, I take the hair on the right side of my head, turning the curling iron upside down, wrap my hair around the barrel (with the clamp still open). Did we follow that? Then after the hair is wrapped around, let go of the clamp and that will hold your hair for a few seconds.

While your curl is still hot right out of the iron take the strand of hair and cup it in your hand. Now take a bobbi pin and clip it to your head so that way when all of your hair is done and all of it is clipped up and cooled down- what I do is just give it a few spray's with the hair spray I had on hand. This generic hair spray was fine- my hair wasn't extra crunchy or anything and the hairspray says it also conditions, protects and holds- awesome, sounds good to me.

Wow long post, no? I hope everybody is having a good week-end. I am off to ride my bike and go swimming! I always feel like a kid in the summer time, playing outside and all. Me and Alex (BFF) found out about this really nice bike trail that I am thinking goes around the whole county if im not mistaken...I mean it's freaking long! We wanna be able to ride the whole thing by the end of the summer...wish me luck!

thanx reading too!

April Favorites!

From the left to the right-

Femme Couture Mineral Effects in Sandy Beach- (You can barely see this one in my picture!) This is a matte loose eye shadow powder. I love this as a base. After my primer and before my shadow- I put this on my lid. It does have lasting power and although I don't usually like loose shadow I happen to love this one. It is a really dense (but really soft) powder and it's just beautiful.

Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural read this review here

L'Oreal Studio Line Hair Putty- I have been using this stuff for a few years now, I love this stuff. the texture isnt too sticky, it almost feels like lotion. However it is a little stickier than lotion but not too sticky. I love this to rub into my hair at my roots. I throw it in while my hair is damp then i use a big round brush to blow it out. It gives me nice volume at my roots. I always have a tub of this- It has been a favorite for quite some time

Finger Paints Polish in -Brushstroke Blush- OMG! I really really love this color! it is the perfect pale pink on my fingers!! I think this will be my favorite polish for months to come! I think this is a great dupe for OPI Sweetheart or Bubble Bath...So hard to capture the true color of this polish with my camera but I think I got it pretty good.....

ACT face tanner I only got a sample of this at my tanning salon because I was a bit skeptical, my face has a mind of it's own, very acne prone so I wasnt sure if this stuff was going to break me out or what. It is actually designed for your face to wear in the tanning bed and it's supposed to diminish pimples and acne scarring. It did make my scarring a little less noticeable but I think that is the tan and not the lotion. My skin tone is fair and although I do tan I burn at first. With this stuff my face didn't burn at all, it made it really tan which I really like. As for diminishing my pimples...I cant say it did that. I dont like using body lotion on my face in the bed (or in real life for that matter) so I think this is the perfect product for me. If you tan and your skin is sensitive I highly recommend this.
Maybelline- Lipstick color Born With It I dont know how I forgot about this one! It is my favorite favorite for April! It is the perfect pink lip color- a really good dupe for this would be MAC's creme cup but for half of the price!! Ive been wearing this under my Sexy gloss by Mark.

 Without Flash:

So yah there you have it, my favs for the month! sorry so late! Im always late for favs tho aren't i?If anybody else did a favorites post, let me know in the comments! these are my favorite posts to read & video's to watch!!

Review: Loreal Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser (Sensitive Skin)

Hey Guys! This has been a long time coming! I know I promised it a long time go but I have been having mixed feelings about it so I will tell you all of them.

So first off I got the cleanser for sensitive skin (it's in the blue bottle) That was initially why I picked it up. Usually your options for cleansers are dry vs. oily. My face can be both at the same time! Trust it has a mind of it's own and it is very sensitive. I guess you can always get the combination option but my skin is truly sensitive.

This cleanser was pretty average for the first couple of weeks. I do wash my face day and night and when I was using this I wanted to really see what it was like so I didn't use my old stand-by Proactiv. I wanted instant gratification with this and I didn't get it. I know that you do need to give your skin and the cleanser a couple weeks to really start working, so I just kept using it but I didn't really have high hopes for it for some reason.

After I got half-way thru the bottle I really notice I change in my face. I do have acne prone skin and my pimples were really diminishing in a way. Not that every pimple was cleared off of my face but it did make them a little smaller.

The best thing about the formula tho was that my face was very smooth after using it for a few weeks as well. Like I said my face can be dry and oily all at the same time and I find if I do use this it makes my face soft and kind of evens the combination of dry and oily out. It meets exactly in the middle and makes my face really smooth! With this formula, they did as they promised and it was very sensitive on my skin. I cleansed it with out going over board by making it dry as some cleansers can do.

I also liked how it came with the little scrubbie which is made out of rubber. I think that this was my favorite part. It isn't too rough on your skin like a loofah or a washcloth would be but it's isn't too easy on your face, it gets more work done than your hands would get done! I think this little thing was what alot of people have been looking for, including myself

I dont really have any negative things to say about this. I really liked it, It is around $5 if I am not mistaken so it is very affordable.

Overall thought is I will still be using this to take off makeup and really cleanse all of the dirt out of my face before I use my Proacitv daily. Since this doesn't have any kind of exfoliator to it I do like to use my Proactiv still. But it is a very good face cleanser. Will I be purchasing this again? Yes I probably will, but if I dont purchase this again soon, I will be keeping the little scrubbie that came with it just because I think it really helps with getting all of that dirt out of your skin. Although the formula is great, I loved that scrubbie! I think the scrubbie and the formula go hand in hand. I say if you have sensitive skin, definitely try out this cleanser.

Thanx For Reading!!
