Boho{mian} Rhapsody || OOTD

On a summer day in Ohio, it is seriously humid. I mean, really. So when it comes to summer fashion, I look for something to wear that is hip and visually pleasing, but also wants something that gives me room to breathe. Fresh and On-Trend, if you will.

Being comfortable in such a humid climate usually means not a ton of jewelry. A few pieces always bring an outfit together, in my opinion. As for this look, I have nothing on but a necklace. {and a hair tie...and a head piece} I could grab a bracelet or two to help this look even more. But this is real, people. I didn't wear any that day and that is just the way it goes sometimes.

The dress is the main star of the show. A ruffle tier baby doll dress, I have been wearing it over my bathing suit as well as day to day. The oatmeal cartigan is really thin with a reverse mullet style shape. I think the cardigan adds that extra boho feel to it, as the dress is loosely fitted. To add some kind of color, I wore my Coral t-strap sandals with the gold detailing near the feet along with the gold bar going up the foot. So cute! Since coral and mint go hand in hand this season, my mint and silver panel necklace went perfect with my mint bra. The bra peeks through which I think, adds to the style and look I was going for. I could have went for a bandeau to peek through, but I thought it was showing a little too much and those just don't fit my body type. The mint bra is decorative anyhow and tied everything together. It's weird to say a bra tied my outfit together, but it's true!

To add an extra accessory without feeling tied down, I of course I had to wear the floral headpiece. Looking back, I wish I would have got a closer shot of the head piece. It has 1 rhinestone in the center of each flower. That's why I gravitated towards this particular head piece. It adds a little bit of glam while still giving a nod to the summer of 1969. {hey that's an unintentional Bryan Adams reference} It is made to be worn as is. I tried to wear it as a headband but it is too loose. So if your looking for something like this, check out Tilly's!

Fashion Trends I Picked Up

Spring is coming. I am exited. It calls for new, fresh clothes! Spring is my favorite time of year to shop. We have a new color of the year and a light, brighter color palette for the season. All the trends are a step up from the year before. This year so far, I went to Burlington Coat Factory, Old Navy, and Kohl's. Everywhere had chiffon tops, mixed metals + studs, and pastels. I wanted to buy everything! let me show you what I got:

Kohl's $25
A quarter length peach, chiffon {sheer} top with an oxford style collar with gold studs on the tips. This is the epitamy of what I have been seeing from store to store for this season. Pastels, Sheer Fabrics, Studs, + Metallic's. Everything I love so much. I found this top in the juniors section. It was much cheaper than any of the other chiffon tops from Lauren Conrad, Apt 9, Vera, or any of the other designers in that section. And for that matter, it was the cutest! The brand is IZ Byer.

Burlington Coat Factory $17
How adorable are these freakin shoes?! They are by the "Wanted" brand. I needed a new pair of nice flats and since these were $17, I grabbed 'em. Made from a metallic type of fabric, these are a cool toned taupe metallic color with gold studs. I love the little bow. Classy with an edge. These go perfect with the above blouse. Along with these earrings, I have the perfect outfit.

Burlington Coat Factory $7
I cannot go clothes shopping without getting some cute, comfy clothing. 9 times out of 10, I wear comfy clothes. The only time I get dressy is if im going out, if I have something special to do, or for OOTD's. In the summer I love dresses but I just really hate jeans so I feel like every day is either a yoga pants or sweats day. As long as they are cute! These peach sweats were too cute, useful, + too cheap to pass up. They have a white, thicker/wider draw string and go 3 quarters of the way down my leg. They were made to roll up. Like I mentioned, I am a sucker for anything pastel or dusty in color. $7!? How can you beat that?!

Old Navy $5
I actually bought this right after Christmas, right when everything at Old Navy is like %75 off.  I get at least 1 thing from the sale a year. I just thought this was really cute. A pink and teal colored jersey style tee.

Question of the day:
What is your favorite line from Kohl's?
Lauren Conrad, ELLE, Apt 9, Vera, Rock and Republic are some of the designers I know off hand.
My favorite is Lauren Conrad. She always hits the spot for my trend craving's season after season. Have you seen her new collection?

I love it!

love,
Erica

#9: Shoes I Love But Don't Wear Often

That would be these open toe leopard print heels. I will admit I have gotten full use out of them since I bought them almost 2 years ago... as you can tell by the dirty heel on one of them..oops! They are the oldest pair I have. Then again, I did some major closet cleaning -reduced everything by almost %50! & I still don't wear everything in the closet! These heels are no exception. They are so adorable though! I love the gold buckle & the print but there are a couple of reasons I don't wear them often. The first reason being that they are not that comfortable. Almost every other heel I own is more comfy than these. They aren't the worst but I usually reach for something more...relaxing! The second reason being that I can only wear them half of the year because I live in the cold during the winter months. Yuck! ):

I purchased these at Burlington if your wondering for probably like $30 I would guess. Their shoes are always cheap & always well made. Actually, I think any heel I own is most likely from Burlington. There more than great coats!

Anybody Joining Me Yet For the Challenge?!  C'Mon!
I am behind a few days so don't feel like you must keep up with it every single day! Just do it, girls! (or dudes!)! If you decide on taking part in it, don't forget to link me!

signing off with a computer hug,
