Ok so yesterday was Sunday. It doesn't really matter because this outfit is easy like...scrambled eggs....a walk on the beach.....Sunday morning.....or Monday afternoon. Except this Monday isn't really easy. I am in the middle of moving today. At least my outfit is easy today.
This outfit is 1 monochromatic piece of fabric other wise known as a romper. To make it interesting, they added a tribal/aztec type of print. I like that because it isn't neither too plain nor too busy. You can easily add different piece's of jewelry to go with this outfit, like so. I really liked playing with the different color accessories to give it some color. Hence the orange bracelet and the mint bra strap. I'm not saying I am the most formal and classy when it comes to OOTD's or outfit's in general. This is just me. Besides, it is totally trendy to have bra's and bandeau's showing these days.
thank god
Another addition to my outfit's every single day, is the hair tie on ma' wrist. It is what it is. Some other things on my wrist include a gold stretch bracelet and a cross stretch bracelet both seen here. The orange bracelet with the gold beading is from Trisha's Treasure Chest. It has been my favorite lately. I got it for free when I ordered those sweet sunglasses. I love those things. I know they are not for everyone. You either love them or you hate them. They look upside down and I would say they throw back the 50's, 60's or 70's. One of those era's. What do you guys think of them? If your wondering, those sunglasses are the pink ones on her site. Not a crazy pink, they look rather nude.
The necklace was previously seen here. This is another favorite. Whenever I don't know what to wear on my neck, I always go for it. It lays at the perfect length. It is easy. It isn't heavy or a huge fuss. It has a simple design, a feather, but has some cute white bead detailing on the feather. I also really love that the feather isn't actually a charm you can take on and off. It is attached to the chain and it lays horizontally as opposed to vertically. I notice weird things like that.
If there is one thing that isn't easy about my outfit, it would be the fact that I always put it on backwards. The straps hang really low. I apologize I didn't get a better shot of the back of the outfit, but take my word for it: it is loose and the straps criss cross. That combination always messes me up on my first try of putting it on.
Have you seen my last OOTD? OMG I swear I wear it like twice a week. Check it out!
Another beauty blogger type of site. Hautelook, Birchbox, Jewelmint, DailyLook, etc. They all have some kind of hook and are all so fun to shop. I never really gave Shop Lately a look until recently. I have heard so much about it, but just like all of these #bblogger sites, sometimes it goes in one ear and out the other. I decided to one day check out Shop Lately.
I am hooked.
Shop Lately has, first of all, some really great prices. Great prices are one thing, but they also have some really adorable stuff. It is my favorite new site.
Shop Lately offer's mostly jewelry and accessories from different smaller brands. But the brands they carry are on-point. The brands they have almost remind me of jewelry brands you would find on Etsy. But that's not all! They have a sale section which is set up to be a flash sale type of page. They have certain brands on that page, and you can get a great price on those sale items for only a few days. That is how they get 'cha!
Glint and Gleam seem to be the main brand/vendor on Shop Lately. Glint and Gleam is most likely my favorite jewelry brand yet. Check their stuff out.
As soon as I seen the Gold Tiny Tiered Trio Necklace on sale for $8.50, I had to have it. I have always wanted a 3 tiered necklace with crosses. And this one was even better because it has a skull as the first charm. If it had a heart as another charm, it would be actually perfect for me. And if was real gold at that price, it would be even better! LOL! But I still love it. I have been wearing it, no joke, every single day.
The only thing that drives me crazy about it is that it can get tangled up really easy. I guess that comes with the territory.
I am wearing it as short as I can in this picture, so that should give you an idea of exactly where it will fall on the neck.
That was the only thing I actually purchased.
It came with a free gift! Cha Ching!
In the box it came with a note that they sent me a necklace they thought I would like based on my purchase. I don't know how the dainty gold necklace would fall into the same category as this huge clunky 80's looking necklace, and at first I was put off. Normally I don't like this sort of thing.
But then I realized this was my chance to branch out of my comfort zone and I instantly started to like it. I surprised myself and have worn it twice since it came in the mail over a week ago.
I am not sure what it is called {I am sorry} Again, I am wearing this necklace as short as it will go. However, I do think this necklace would look really cute worn long, with the chain laying right on the collar of the shirt, and the bulk of the necklace sitting entirely on the shirt. This necklace has some weight to it. Not so heavy it is over bearing and weighing my neck down, but heavy enough to tell me it was made well and isn't cheap. In fact, it doesn't weigh my neck down at all.
That was everything I got from Shop Lately! I can't wait to order again!
Also, my packaged must have been shipped right away because I got it rather quickly. I think I waited 5 days, which isn't much of a wait.
I bought some really gorgeous jewelry a couple weeks ago from Charlotte Russe that I have been dying to show you all.
You all know I am a fan of Arm Candy and when I buy jewelry from Charlotte Russe {It is almost always 2 pieces for $10} I can't resist getting those 3 pack of bracelets. The one's I picked out, I love. I have been seeing the new Arm Candy for Spring/Summer, and a lot of it is made up of metals with cloth.
The first one is a braided skull bead bracelet with the metallic gold skull beads woven throughout. Fastens with an adjustable pull cord and had 2 gold beads attached to each of the 2 pull cords. One of the beads fell off. I love skulls and I love how these skull beads are tiny, but you can still see that they are skulls. It's a nice little detail. I love the pull cord too. I wish the one bead didn't fall off, obviously. But yah no.
The next bracelet has a beige rope with a metallic gold bar as the solid piece. This is the one piece that sold me. I loved the mixing of the rope with the gold bar. This is adjustable as well. The rope is tied in a loose knot with a metallic gold piece that you pull up or down to make it looser or tighter.
The last piece is a gold spike bracelet with pearls set in metallic gold between each spike. I could have done without the pearls although it does add a little class to a what would have been an edgy bracelet. Stretchy, cheap band.
For my second piece of jewelry, I decided on this bauble-esc silver metallic necklace. They also had a coral one with silver which I want to go back and snatch. This fastens with a lobster claw and I am wearing it in the middle somewhere. It can be adjusted to go a little lower. The longest it goes is just below the collar of a normal tee shirt. It can also be worn a little higher than this. Forgive me as I don't have exact measurements. It doesn't fit long like a quintessential bauble necklace. I prefer this one over that, however. Sorry about the boob shot.
ok! I have got to run! It's Philly's birthday today, and I still have to go buy him something + buy myself something to wear. Im not complaining though ;)
With spring on it's way, the arm candy craze with surely be back with it. Here's some new arm candy I got from Charlotte Russe.
They always have a 2 for $10 sale running on most of the jewelry, so be sure to check them out! Not to mention, they have some seriously adorable pieces!
The first set came in a set of three and I was realizing that if I was arm candy, I would probably be these pieces. Pastel, distressed skulls with gold beads? Yep! That's me! Don't ask where I get these scenarios from. I thought these were hella cute and couldn't pass on them.
The
next piece was a toss up. They had a chunky, thick burnished gold chain
that I thought I have been wanting for months put when I tried it on,
it just wasn't wowing me. it seemed almost too much for me. So, I kept
going back to this one and when I realized it matched my previous pick, I
was hooked. This one still has the chain quality I was going for, just
much less chunky (and more wearable in my opinion) which is connected to
the pastel pink faux leather band with a button snap closure. Not to
mention, it's easy to wear as it isn't heavy. Plus, it is going to go
with almost any other pieces of arm candy I have. Mixing gold and silver
is really popular this year!
I especially love the way the chain bracelet falls. It will sometimes slightly twist around one another like so:
Here's the back side. I actually wear the chain bracelet either way. Sometimes I will put the closure in the back and other times I will leave the chains back there.
Trend alert:
Seems like everywhere I turn I am finding studs on clothing, pastels, and gold with silver in the same pair of shoes. Also chiffon. I don't think there was another type of top in Burlington when I went. Clothing haul coming soon.
Can't wait till it gets a little warmer out and I can wear this arm candy with a tee shirt.
Here's my problem. I love trendy jewelry. And lately, cheap, cute Forever 21 type jewelry has just not been enough. My Tiered Southwest Pendant necklace already broke twice since I bought it! Phil fixed it for me, but still. That sux. It was only $7. That's the problem. Sometimes you just get what you pay for.
I have been going to Macy's here and there to just stock the jewelry department every now and then, wondering when I was going to cave. I didn't have to! On my birthday, Oct 8th, Phil asked what I wanted and I knew just what it was:
This was my number one pick.
BCBGeneration Bracelet, Metallic Leather, Amor Bracelet. Gun metal leather band, rose gold lettering, affirmation reading "amor <3"....obviously. It couldn't have been more perfect.
It has button closures or snap closures that fit in 2 different sizes.
If I had the money, I would already own half of these affirmation bracelets. I just hate the one's that say something like "taken" or "duh" or "omg". Those are a little too trendy for me. Don't be surprised if you see a blog post about all 3 said affirmation bracelets in a few months. I can't promise anything.
Here's the only bad thing about having higher-end trendy jewelry. It will go out of style eventually. And nobody knows when. I am praying (not literally- I am not that pretentious!) that the arm candy trend will at least go for the next few years. I want to get my wear out of this bracelet.
Not only is this trendy, but it also serves another purpose. Every day I wear it, I remember to radiate love. My re-hab counselor would be proud.
This is $18 at Macy's right now if your interested.
Thank you again to Philly for my birthday present. I love it.
It has been a very crazy start to the fall. Lots of ups and downs. October is one of my favorite months because of my birthday (the 8th!).
I also love it for 2 more reasons: 1) because I know this will be the last of the nicer weather to takes walks and be outside and 2) it is closer to Christmas!
Unfortunately, the restaurant I was working at closed down at the start of October and I am at a loss *again* looking for a job. I have been praying I can get one in enough time to celebrate Christmas! It is my favorite holiday. This will be an extension of my beauty favorites. Check those out here.
♡Fall Favorites♡
Arm Candy:
Maybe this would qualify as a beauty favorite but whatever, I already uploaded the picture here. A trend I never really got into until recently. I have been buying cheap arm candy at every chance I get! If your loving this trend too, you will love my Forever 21 jewelry purchases!
Purple Jeweled Bracelet: Walmart $1.99
Pink Gummy Watch: JC Penney $10
Black Shamballa Bracelet: 5 and Below $2.99
My Birthday:
It was my birthday on the 8th!! Thanks to my mom for making dinner, my b/f's mom, Barb, for making me this delicious cake, my b/f Phil for the presents and taking me out to dinner (Red Lobster all you can eat shrimp! Holla!), & my bfff Alex for the pumpkins, & candle! I love you guys so much! We had a fun relaxing night, talking, drinking wine and hanging out. Alex brought the other puppies Lexi, Precious (Stella's mom), & Chloe (Stella's twin sister). It was 1 of the best birthday's yet! I was so lucky to have all of my favorite living beings there! 4 dogs & 3 other people besides myself. The dog to human ratio is sometimes at least 50/50. Most of the time, we are out numbered by dogs at 2/4. We love our puppies!
Pumpkins:
Alex
again, thank you girl! Have yet to carve these babies! I actually kinda
like them plain. They look rustic sitting on the janky back porch! LOL!
Jack-O-Lantern These are at the Boardman Park. I guess all the school's had a competition. Some of the best 1's were done by pre-schoolers! Wow! They look awesome! One good thing about Youngstown Ohio is the parks this time of year!
Seasonal Beer:
I love trying seasonal beers. There's something about fall beers that
gets me exited. I am usually a wine drinker any other time of the year.
At my old work, they would rim the beer mug with cinnamon and sugar, then add pumpkin flavored beer. Perfect drink if your having a Halloween party! I bought a 6 pack of Sam Adams version of Octoberfest. I think that is my favorite Octoberfest beer.
Walks In The Park:
1 of our favorite things to do is go for walks in the park. There are so many good parks around here and lately we have been going to a park called Boardman Park. For the past couple of week's, the park has been really active. On top of the Jack-O-Lantern display, all of the decorations for the witch walk are up in the trail. They had Octoberfest + they are doing pancakes with homemade maple syrup which comes from the barks of trees. Here's some cute fall pictures from 1 of our walk a couple weeks ago. The other night, there were so many leaves on the ground that you couldn't even see the path!
♡Favorite Fall Candle(s)♡
Cinnamon Sugared Donut Candle!
I took back my Frosted Cupcake, which
didnt smell like anything when I lit it. I
exchanged it to get my favorite fall scent from B+BW. I love this! It's a
spicy, sweet, sweet scent! If your not into the super spicy scents, but
want to stay true to the season, give this 1 a smell! And I promise
this has a high scent throw!
♡Favorite Candle #2:♡
Air Wick Candle:
The candle Alex got me for my birthday! She knows me too well! It is from Air Wick. This candle doesn't have much of a smell, but I have been lighting it every single night because it changes colors! A perfect present, I believe, is something so gimmicky and cool that you probably would not buy it for yourself. This was right on the nose! LOL! I think this will be in some peoples Christmas boxes this year!
♡Favorite Nail Combo♡
Essie's A Cut Above:
That's the rose gold glitter you see. I love it so much. Not a great mani on my part but I had to share that gorgeous glitter again! And the light pink is from Wet n Wild from one of the older, cheaper nail polish lines. I don't know the name because it wore off and I dont recommend the polish. It got gloopy real quick. I just really love the color. Any baby pink will do for me!
♡Favorite Book♡
Helter Skelter: Maybe you didn't know, but I love anything having to do with criminal law. Example, some of my favorite shows are Lock Up, Forensic Files, First 48, Snapped, & The Investigators. For a short time, I wanted to become a psychiatrist for people on death row. I want to get into their minds. I also had a slight obsession years ago to know everything there was to know about the whole Manson era. If I could go back in time, I would go back to 1969 and go the Haight Ashbury District, I would attend Woodstock (I would bring food for myself! Im 1 step ahead!) & make it back in time to be at the Manson trial. You may already know I have always had a huge obsession with Hollywood + how movies are made. I love when a set looks "fake". And when it comes to Hollywood, the older the better! I just love it! I would probably have to take my time traveling device to Hollywood circa 1940's too. Im getting off subject...
Even though I watch Forensic Files and can even get into court t.v. as long as its a high profile, juicy case, court t.v. will not capture my attention for too long. I was afraid Helter Skelter was going to be reminiscent of court t.v., reciting a bunch of legal documents from the trial and I wasn't going to be able to follow- considering it was written by the prosecutor himself. There is some legal jargon, but it's really easy to read. The last book I have read this fast was My Friend Leonard. If your into criminal law, the late 60's, or your into the whole Manson trial + more: give it a read!
♡Favorite Puppy♡
Stella: Cant leave her out! She's a big girl now and her birthday is coming soon!1 (or 7) year(s) old! I love her. I know, I am a weird dog lady. My idea of a great birthday was having my 3 closest ppl at my house along with the 4 best dogs I know! Alex has Precious, Lexi, & Chloe. Lexi and Chloe are twinsies as they were born in the same litter. Said litter came out of Precious. Lexi's the only 1 not blood related. Lexi is also the goodest dog. The min pins are little brats! LOL! She loves other animals (kitties and puppies) but doesn't like strange people too much.
Phil holding her ears down- haha! She looks so cute and silly!
She has on a coat and a sweater: "I cant put my arms down!"lol!
♡Favorite Song♡
Long December
Old school, right?! How many remember this song? I used to love this song and completely forgot about it. I love when I all of the sudden remember songs I forgotten. I love any 90's rock. It is some of my favorite type of music. This song hits the spot if your craving a 90's rock song. Next song will be by Matchbox20....anyone?
♡Favorite T.V. Show♡
The Challenge. this is my favorite show on. I have been watching it since Real World Road Rules Challenge 2000. I watch it every season & lately, have liked it more than Real World. When it is time for a new season, I always kick myself for not following the last season of the Real World a little more closely. MTV has the best reality shows in my opinion. Teen Mom. Jersey Shore. Second best would be TLC. How can I forget about Sister Wives, 19 Kids and Counting, Toddlers and Tiara's, Little People Big World, or Breaking Amish. I love t.v. This is my absolute fave show, though. This video is for the trailer.
Thats it! If you want to know my beauty favorites, then click.
What are favorite things about fall?
and by the way, Happy Halloween! thank you for stopping by! xoxo Erica
Can you believe we don't have a Forever 21 around here? Oh well. We have 1 about a half hour away but that mall sucks so bad. It is so old and broke down and every time I go to it, I get exited because I am going to something other than the mall near me, only to be disappointed when I get there. So I ordered stuff online. I wanted to type "I ordered stuff offline" but that doesn't seem right. Who cares.
At our mall near me, we have Body Central, Charlotte Russe, & Wet Seal. None of them ever have any trendy jewelry. Yes, I am trendy. You can't be too surprised! You have seen this blog before, right? So, I wanted some cheap, trendy jewelry. Here's the stuff I got:
Etched Arrowhead Necklace $6.80
This was what I wanted in the first place and wanted to make it over $21 so I could get free shipping. When it arrived, I found out I liked the other necklace better. This one is a gold color, but not a true gold. Forever21 describes it as "burnished arrowheads with an etched zigzag pattern." The website does offer the length and dimensions of the necklace as 18". I didn't matter because I had no idea what 18" looked like anyway. What you see on my neck is about as long as it will go. I like it anyways. I have always wanted that House of Harlow necklace and this feeds my craving. For now. It has a lobster claw clasp.
Tiered Southwest Pendant $6.80
This is my favorite purchase. I cannot tell you the exact length of the necklace as Forever21 doesn't offer it any longer (more on that later). Just by looking at it here, you can tell it is longer than the Arrowhead necklace, which is 18". What you see in the picture is on the shorter side. This necklace is heavy duty. Not so heavy that it weighs me down, but it has some weight, if you know what I mean. I really like how the plates have a tribal pattern etched into them. It has a little flare with out being too loud on the tribal side. It has an oval chain, with a lobster claw clasp, and a high polish finish. I don't have anything like this and I am happy with it.
Arm Candy!
Rhinestoned Cross Bracelet $4.80
This was really cheap. Since I have been looking for a sideways cross piece of jewelry, I figured I would grab it. I have different pieces on my wishlist and this was one of them. However, I can see myself purchasing these beaded cross bracelets many times as they are stretchy and those always brake on me. It was just a couple bucks. Im happy with it. If you ask me, this bracelet is a little overpriced with the necklace prices in mind. All in all, it is only $4.80 so it's fine.
Metallic Chain-Link Bracelet Set $5.80
Mark. has something similar to these bracelets for $22. I figured these were a steal! I seen them on the site, and felt like I had to have them. When they finally got here, I seen the actual quality. They are just weird and seem cheap. I feel like they will pinch me one day from the way they stretch. I wish I could just hand it to you so you can see what I mean. I guess you get what you pay for with some things! I will still wear them, but comparing them to mark.'s In the Mix Stretch Bracelet's, I think those are way cuter and I will most likely crack and purchase them. I am a mark. rep so I get something around 20% off. If your interested in purchasing the mark version, I will link you to my boutique!
Mark.'s In the Mix Stretch Bracelet
Ordering from Forever21 is a little tricky. I usually will put stuff in and take stuff out of my bag for about a week, making sure I am getting everything I want. Well, there was a downside to that on Forever21's website. Every day I would check my bag, making sure my items were still there. I do this with every online store and never before did I get to the page to find things missing from my bag. This happened twice in the week on Forever21's site. I don't know why. I am assuming they change stuff a lot, a lot. When I went to add it again to my bag, both items were no longer offered. So be careful if your indecisive about your online purchase like me. Don't say I didn't warn yah!
Also, if your wanting to order jewelry from cheaper places online (cough Forever21 cough) I would try to find some kind of review (like this one) on the pieces your wanting because not everything is as it seems. I am speaking mainly on the Metallic Chain Link Bracelet Set. Then again, nothing is all that expensive anyhow. I will probably do some research next time, anyways.
There's some of my new jewelry purchases! Overall, I have been loving my cheap jewelry lately! I have more jewelry stuff coming soon!
If your going to make a purchase from mark. and you don't have a friend that sells mark., I would love if you shopped at my boutique! The restaurant I worked at closed about a month ago so I am out of work ): it sux so bad! If you have any questions about mark., just leave a comment and I will get back to you! I am always totally honest because I would hate for you to order something wasn't very good or not what your looking for.
Have you guys purchased any nice jewelry from Forever21 recently?
I have not gotten a new bag in almost 3 years. I am not sure why. I guess I would rather buy other things....? Who really knows and who really cares? Not you, I am sure! lol! Needless to say, I needed a new bag.
Little Black Bag: (def.)
a monthly subscription service. You can choose a name brand bag, accessory, jewelry item, or beauty item. Check out. You receive 2 more things in your bag. You can trade these things with other people. You have 8 days to trade starting at the beginning of the month. There are a couple different ways to trade. I talked about how to do exactly that in my video.
You pay $49.90 a month, every month for 6 months. Or, you can choose to pay around $60 1x. However, you can cancel at any time. That is why I signed up for the 6 months. If you choose to do the 6 months, remember to cancel! Easy as that! I wish I could afford a brand new bag every month + more, but I cant! I am still debating on staying for Oct. because my birthday's on the 8th. I don't know. Still undecided.
BCBGeneration - Corey Striped Tote
$88 retail value
This was my first pick. I had my eye on it for the whole week. Not looking back, I clicked to check out and I could have kicked myself because there was a gorgeous mint satchel I would have wanted even more! I tried to trade it but every person I asked or tried to trade with wasn't going for it! Damn! All and all, I did choose this out of anything I seen in the gallery the first time so I am happy with it.
Tip #1. Wait as long as you can to even check out to see if they update the Gallery before trading is over.
It is a nice structured bag and I have a feeling it will last a long time. It has a lot of room! It will never feel crowded and unlike other bags this size, you can find anything in it at anytime. I hate that about other bags, when you feel like your bag is a never ending black hole and sucks all of your belongings into it, never to be found again. I think this is probably due to the fact that it is so structured. Has a zippered pocket on 1 side and 2 open pockets on the other. 1 for your phone. Or you can use it for mints, gum, and lotion. Another pocket for lipsticks. Clearly.
Then I got jewelry!
All the Rage - Pyramid Stud Earrings
$20 retail value
This was something I was traded. When it comes to trading jewelry and smaller things, that part seemed to be a lot easier. I have barely no gold jewelry and I thought these were a good jumping off point to start negotiations! Luckily, I didn't want to negotiate anymore and I got exactly what I wanted with these earrings! They have these in silver too, btw. They don't weigh down my ear, and are both classic and edgy if you ask me! So cute!
ZAD - Feather Necklace
$16 estimated retail value
I can't find the retail value anywhere online and they don't offer it on the site anymore! They had another style feather necklace from the same brand, Zad, at $16 retail value. I thought this would go perfect with the Pyramid Stud Earrings. This also was exactly what I wanted to trade, so I was a happy camper! Although on the site, it showed the necklace fit really long on the manikin, going past the boobies. In real life, it fits much smaller. I was happy to find out it fit much smaller than expected. I like shorter necklaces, anyway. Just be sure to do some research, search some blogs, and find some pictures of the item on Google if your not sure if something is true to size on Little Black Bag.
total retail value $124
I paid: $49.90
Final Verdict:
So Much Fun! I am hooked! I wish I could afford every month, but I know next time I am in the market for a new bag, I most likely will only order from Little Black Bag. How can you beat $50 including shipping for 3 items totaling out to $124? You really can't. Unless you find a good sale. Then if you do, tweet me about it! Like I mentioned before, you may cancel any time before the bag ships. That means if your in trading still and your not happy with your bag, cancel it right then and there! It also shipped on time. Another plus.
If your interested in joining, I have an invite link for you! If you use it, I get an extra item in my bag for the next month to trade! Then you can invite others, and get something free too! Happy Days!
