Target Sale: BOGOFree! Physician's Formula

Hey People! thanx to  Nouveau Cheap I found out about the BOGO Free on the Physician's Formula at Target! Naturally I got in the car and drove right to Target. The sale is only on certain products and at first I didn't see anything on sale. There is a small black tag on select items, so look a little closer once you get there. The deal includes Shimmer Strips Eye Shadow, Shimmer Strips Pencil Liners, Mascara, & a Powder. I opted for the Shimmer Strips eye shadow for blue eyes, & the Shimmer Strips eye liners for brown eyes. I needed another black liner and even tho I really wanted to try the Maybelline Master Drama Cream Pencil, I heard it was a dupe for the Urban Decay liners. Even tho my favorite liner is L'Oreal's Kohl Liner, there was a sale and I have never tried Physician's Formula liners and I love PF so I wanted to give 'em a go! How can you beat 3 liners, & a palette for $10!??! Know to what you guys clicked on my bloggie blog for:

Shimmer Strips Shadow for Blue Eyes- Even tho I don't have blue eyes I think I probably liked this one the best. I would have probably got the one for Brown Eyes but they sadly out ): That one comes with bronze & purples and those are my favorite colors to use! I barely have any blue shadows so why not?

Shimmer Strips Liner for Brown Eyes- I think this was the only one with a black liner if im not mistaken and I use black liner every. single. day. & like I said I was running out of my black liner. Not only does it have black, it also comes with purple and brown. In a perfect world, I would have wanted a teal/blue in place of the brown since I already have a brown liner, but I can't complain.

Quick Review- Even tho these are called Shimmer Strips I dont really see any shimmer. I was actually hoping there wouldn't be much shimmer because I personally just like solid colors with no funny business. So if your looking for some shimmer liners, I wouldn't recommend these, I actually think that the Avon Glimmer Sticks have fabulous pay-off when it comes to the shimmer/glitter. Not too much, but just enough.

As you know, I can get a bit picture happy (:

FYI- When I was rung up my total came like $20 and they didn't discount me right away. I mentioned the sale and they had to go and double check on it so I don't think this sale is being advertised so make sure your cashier knows about the BOGOFree- thanx for reading & happy shopping (:

NOTD: Water Marbling

hey there everyone! So I have seen everyone around the internet trying out the water marbling technique and I knew I had to try it out- It took me a few tries to get it exactly right but once I got the hang of it- i didn't wanna stop! There's something about making designs in the water with all the different color nail polishes that is so fun! So here's the end result:

Here are the nail polishes I used l2r: Bubblegum Pink, Blue Me Away, Lacey Lilac, Strawberry Fraise

You Will Need:
1. A small container with around a 2" radius, or smaller! Just make sure your finger fits into it.
2. A Toothpick
3. Scotch Tape
4. Nail Polish

After countless Youtube video's I watched to see what I thought would work the best, here's is what I came up with:

1. The smaller the container, the better. If you use a bigger container, your gunna have to use a lot more nail polish- unless your doing all 5 fingers at once, which I don't recommend. Do one finger at a time with the smallest container you have that you can fit your finger in.

2. Fill the container with water, leaving some room at the top so it doesn't spill once you have your finger in it.

3. Tape as much as your finger as you can, leaving only the nail exposed. I even pushed some tape underneath my finger nail. So that way, when you dip your finger into the marbled water, the excess polish will stick to the tape instead of your skin. Your fingers will feel a bit sticky tho after you take off the tape. I would recommend doing one nail at a time, it looks like much more of a controlled design and much more clean. I didn't do this on a couple of the nails, I wish I did.

4. Drop a few drops of nail polish in the center of the container of nail polish #1. Then immediately drop a few drops of nail polish #2 in the center of the container. Same with nail polish #3 & #4.You want to work quickly so the nail polish doesn't dry on the surface of the water. I would say you have like 20-30 seconds for this part.

5. Once you have all the colors you want on the surface it is time to start creating your design! Taking the tip of the toothpick, carefully drag on color into another. You can make any kind of design you want to! All you need to make sure of is to stick your design to the edge's of the container. All you need to do is drag your toothpick to the side of the container, pull the toothpick slightly upward, and it should stick just fine. do this on 4-5 different sides to ensure your design isn't going to mess up once you have your finger in it. You wanna work quickly here too but this doesn't take all but 5 seconds once you get the hang of it.

6. When the design is ready, put your nail down into the water, being that your nail goes in to the water first- not the tip of your finger or nail. Stick your finger down into the water until the end of your tape hits the beginning of the water. If you do that your nail should have the design on it inside the water.

7. Dont pull it out just yet! Before you take your finger out of the water, make sure you grab the rest of the polish design on top of the water with a toothpick. If not, the excess will stick to your already marbled nail, making your design you created look distorted. Something I learned a little late on! haha

Ok! so there yah have it! I hope my step-by-step tips make sense. If they do, then I have given you what you need! If you have no idea wtf water marbling is, just You Tube "water marbling" it will bring up a million videos. Everyone does it slightly different. The steps I mentioned is what works best for me. Good Luck Nail Technicians!

Has anybody else ever tried this? What tips do you have for the rest of us?

This Week in Pictures...

Exfoliator- I usually always use an exfoliator and this week is no exception! I have been loving my scrubbies! Lately I have had a lot of dead skin. I think it's because it is getting cold (damn) here in Ohio. I love the Hawaii Coconut one because it does create soapy bubbles and it is creamy. There's isnt anything like C.O. Bigelow's Lemon Body Scrub just because it is a true exfoliator. They both work great, and I got both of them at Bath & Body Works.

Fall Candles- I am loving the new candles that they have! My favorite one (besides the coconut leaves one- it smells so fresh, really watery if that makes sense, and coconuty!) is this Marshmallow Fireside one. They had a s'mores one as well but I just liked this one much better. The scent is warm with a musky note, sweet, and a bit spicy. The leaves one and the kitchen spice one were a little too spicy for me, so if you like spicy scents w/ sweet mixed in, you have got check this one out

DIY Hot Chocolate. We had marshmallows left over from our bonfire so I thought U would put them to good use. Here's my DIY Hot Chocolate Recipe: This recipe is both healthy and cocoa powder is good for you. It has a bunch of antioxidants so by all means, sip away!
  • 1 part Hershey's Cocoa Powder
  • 1 part coffee creamer (in Sweet Italian Cream! yum!!)
  • half part sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 5 parts heated milk
  • a couple huge marshmallows

Reading-
So im almost done with Jenna Jameson's How to Make Love Like A Pornstar- quite long but for the most part, a pretty great story. It's her autobiography and if your not offended easily, I would say it's a pretty good read.

Instant Feng Shui As you know, I went to school for Architectural & Interiors and I did a report a few years back on Feng Shui, so I bought some feng shui books. I popped them back out of my book shelf just because it has been a while since I read them ('07)- I love feng shui & interiors, for that matter.

Each Day a New Beginning- This is a meditation book which has daily reads that your supposed to read at the beginning of each day to give you some sort of motivation. I love meditation books! This one, out of all of them that I have, is my favorite. This one is for women. It is a great daily read. So inspirational and if im having a bad day, I always think back to my daily read I read that morning. Out of any of the books I mentioned- this one is the best

The Sims 3- If you don't play the Sims- you need to! It is Barbies for grown ups- Im a huge Sims buff....if there ever was such a thing haha

Rivals- This isnt a picture but I have become obsessed-
-I think it's safe to say I am a little obsessed with this show! I have always been a huge fan but I just recently found (& joined) a forum for all things RW/RR Challenge related!
-I have also been watching the pod cast that Robin & Katie host live on thursdays. The podcast is really cool because it's like something you would see on you-tube. Cast members skyping about the show.
-And oh yeah....I have kinda been watching old Challenges from years ago on you-tube- yeah, im pretty obsessed

what have you guys been loving??

Best of Birchbox

So I wasn't able to get a birch box this month and I feel like crying because I see everyone else got theirs!!! As I mention in almost every post I am down to no money and it has been hard for me to find a job!! with all of my whining and crying aside, I thought it would be really fun to do a Best of Birchbox post. You guys always kinda see more of a haul type of thing when I talk about my Birchbox and I never really mention an opinion because I haven't had a chance to try anything.

What Im going to do is pick out my absolute favorites from the past few months.

Laura Geller Baked Blush N Brighten- When I first got this and was using it, I did like it but I have to say it certainly wasn't my favorite bronzer. When I first got it in my June Birchbox, I was much darker and I guess it wasn't looking it's best on my skin. Now that I dont have as much of a tan, I am in love with it and have been using it to contour every day since then. As I mentioned before it is really shimmery but honestly, I dont think it's too shimmery as I thought it was before. You do have to use a light hand and be sure to tap off the excess & I know bronzers used for contouring arent supposed to really shimmer, but if you are a bit on the lighter side, I think it actually works really well as a bronzer. It does have shimmer to it, but not too much. And I hear once you hit pan, it isnt a pan but an Italian stone that it was baked on, I cannot wait to hit the tile!! yay!

YBF Beauty Brow Pencil- I have seen her on QVC or HSN so many times that when I seen YBF in my box, I was ecstatic. And it really exceeded my expectations. I love how if you apply it just right, it looks like hair and just blends in- I love this damn thing. As I mentioned before too, this really is a brow pencil only- which I think is a good thing because it dosen't look too heavy on your brows- it actually looks more like hair and mess like pencil marks. U could never use it as an eye liner or anything like that but I do think everyone needs one of these babies in their collection.

LIV GRN Earth Eau de Parfum the card read: "Made from biodegradable and sustainable ingredients, this lush scent is laced with jasmine and sandalwood." This is my favorite scent out of any of them I have received- I just am so in love with it- it is so clean and delicious and girly. check this out if you can, you will probably wanna drink it! well maybe not.... haha! I got this in my very first birchbox

On the Fence
these next items I like alot and I am really grateful to get a chance to try them out, but I don't think they are "must haves" or the best.  So I like them, but I don't love them

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Face Wash- This is a really gentle face cleanser and I do have sensitive skin but I personally think I like the L'Oreal 360 Clean that comes w/the scrubbie. They are very comparable, so if you are interested in this Philosophy face wash, I say save your money and opt for the L'Oreal 360. I also do like exfoliators in my face washes. If you have ever used Proactiv or Clearskin from Avon then you know what I mean. I like to mix Purity with Clearskin. I feel like I get a deeper cleaning w/ an exfoliant. So for this stuff, it's a great face wash but you can buy the L'Oreal 360 for much cheaper and have it do the exact same thing. I think that it is a good dupe for this stuff (and you get the scrubbie!) This would get a 4 but because it is expensive and I feel there is a dupe im gunna give it 3/5

Pangea Organics Toner for Normal Oily Skin- I have been using this toner almost every day since I got it. I really do like something about considering I keep on using it. I usually throw this in my bag if im going to be outside running or whatever. So that way when im all sweaty, I can just spray some of this stuff on and my skin feels refreshed. I think that any other toners I have give that extra step of cleansing more then this stuff does tho. Pangea Organics dosen't burn your skin like some other toners may but honestly, I like that sting just because I know it's getting the job done. The company claims that it gets rid of oil and impurities and I think that claim would be true. It also is supposed to help balance and hydrate your skin and also repair damaged tissue. I can't be positive about any of these claims. Also too, if you dont like the smell of like herbal/hippie scents, your not gunna like the smell of this- I personally don't like the scent. So im gunna give this a 3/5.

Stila Eyeshadow in Coco- When I first seen this in my Birchbox I was soo exited to try out a Stila shadow since I never have before. I think the color is really nice and it does have a good color pay off. I really like that it is matte so I can use it on my brows as well if need be. The only reason I am on the fence with this one is because I have an exact color from Mark. and they are identical twins. Mark.'s Espresso has the same color pay off, pigment, etc. So this is a great shadow but it isnt a unique color, & if you can get it cheaper then I say why in hell not? so again 3/5

1 Week in Diet & Exercise

Ok so im sure you guys know that I love photography, and if you don't well know you do!! Anyways, I love WeHeartIt and I typed "Fitness" into search it on WeHeartIt and this is what I found. These help me probably more than any other health regimen does just because these are so pretty. I am more of visual kind of person I guess- if you are visual like myself, then I hope these will help you as much as me! I think I may create little pictures like this to fit my own lifestyle. For now, these will do

So yeah I just think it is a really fun (& different) way to amp up your diet and exercise and stay on track while also rewarding yourself (: notice how there is only 6 days? i like it- I know, for me, I need to know that I am working hard for that 1 day a week break

So what do you guys think, gunna try any of these suggestions?
