Healthy Contest! Whose With Me This Year?

So for this year, I really wanted to start with a bang!  I want to make a really big effort to stay on a healthy track and make healthier choices. Here's a few food's to take into consideration before you start eating them because they do contain toxins and some even deplete your body of vital nutrients.


Foods to Avoid
-Dairy Foods: except for whey and low-fat yogurt.
-Gluten Foods: Rye, Wheat, Barley
-Caffeine
-Soda Pop
-Alcohol
-Refined Carbs: Pastries, White Rice
-Trans & Hydrogenated Fats: They are found in both fried & processed foods
-Red Meat
-Salt
I know it isn't realistic of me to say I am going to steer clear of all of these foods for the rest of my life. I am going to try my best from here on out but for my juice week I will be following all of these guidelines.


Superfoods to Eat
-Seeds: of any kind. They are all packed with protein, fiber, & good fats. Try to include 1 tablespoon daily in any juice.
-Psyllium: another great source of fiber. Put one 1 teaspoon in your juice or water each day
-Probiotic Powders: A beneficial bacteria. Find one that contains Lactobacillus Acidophilus & Bifidobacteria. Follow the dosage on the bottle
-Glutamine Powder:  1 teaspoon  in a juice or water every night before bed to help reduce number of toxins entering your blood stream.
-Superfood & Antioxidant Powders: to provide yourself with extra nutrients. 1 teaspoon in your juice a day




Perks of the Contest:
-If you wanna enter, leave a comment and let me know. I made a forum just so we can all keep in touch daily. Click here to head over there! that way we can all contact each other daily to let each other know our progress and new healthy discoveries. I think it is a great way to help us stay in check. If you don't wanna do that, then keep a journal to keep yourself in check and reflect on your progress
-Every week, I will post a new recipe I have tried along with pictures, here on Meet Makeup, & also talk about my progress. If you wanna join I think it would be cool that you guys do the same weekly

-Try to stay active 2x a day! Even if your 2 things in 1 day are going for a slow walk and shopping then youv'e done your job. I personally like to dedicate 1 for cardio and 1 for strength each day. Remember to dedicate 1 day to active rest (ex: cleaning the house)
-If we can keep this going until February, that would be awesome! If it goes longer, that's great too! The whole point of the forum and the contest is to make sure we make it a lifestyle change as opposed to a "diet"

**You don't have to follow any of these obviously you can do what ever you like. What ever that may be, good luck on your healthy journey (:**

This is great, what a wonderful idea! We're trying to re-commit ourselves to hitting the gym on a regular basis and eating cleaner. It's so easy to get distracted during the holidays, but the summer will be here before we know it!

yep I know and every year (with the exception of last year) I am always trying to crunch everything in to a 2 week time line to loose 15-20 lbs to get in my bikini! I would love if you came to the forum!!!! and by the way I have been loving your videos lately!
